08.00 -12.00   Stop 1TA/1TB: Ao Nang, basal Kungurian and younger Permian carbonates with bryozoan build-ups and fossil of the Sibumasu terrane in Krabi areas. Then underlying siliciclastic of early Permian with abundance brachiopods, bryozoans and others.

12.00-13.00   Lunch

13.00-16.00   Travel to Satun

16.00-17.00   Stop 2T: Satun Geopark visiting local geopark museum

18.30-19.30   Dinner and stay in La Ngu District, Satun Province

 27th September 2023                                                                                                                                                

08.00 -12.00   Palaeozoic carbonate development, build-ups and fossils

Stop 3T: Khao Tanan, visiting Middle Devonian coral-stromatoporoid reef with fossils such as Stringocephalus and other brachiopods, crinoids, gastropods and other fossils, Ordovician stromatolite

Stop 4T: Khao Noi, build-ups and fossils with the observing of a transition of Upper Ordovician red stromatolite limestone to the Ordovician-Silurian boundary with siliciclastics, volcaniclastics and graptolitic black shales in Satun UNESCO Geopark, southern Thailand

Stop 5T: Ban Han section, dark gray stromatolitic limestone with abundant fossils such as brachiopod, crinoid, nautiloid of the Thung Song Group.

12.00-13.00   Lunch

13.00-14.30   Stop 6T: Pa Kea Formation, observing the grey and red stromatolitic limestone with other fossils such as nautiloids at the area of Petra National Park

14.30-16.00   Stop 7T: Fault contact of the Cambrian siliciclastics and the Ordovician limestones along the Andaman coast.

18.30-19.30   Stay in La Ngu, Satun

08.00 -09.30  Travel from hotel to the Wang Prachan Boundary Post and travel across the ThaiMalay border to Perlis areas

09.30-10.00   Border/immigration process

10.00-11.00  Travel to GeoTapak Timah Tasoh at the eastern part of Timah Tasoh Dam,

Stop 1M: GeoTapak Timah Tasoh, introduction of the geology of the Perlis area, observing the rock containing fusuline Monodiexodina the transition interval between cool and warm shallow marine environment (Singa/Kubang Pasu Formation and Chuping Formation).

11.00-12.00  Travel to Kampung Guar Jentik, Perlis

Stop 2M: Kampung Guar Jentik, visiting the transition of the Upper Setul Limestone and the siliciclastic Jentik Formation, observing fossils such as nautiloids, tentaculitids, brachiopods and others.

12.00-13.00   Lunch

13.00-14.00   Travel to Chua Teong Chai and Sons Quarry, Kampung Lembah Tuwi, Perlis,

Stop 3M:   Chua Teong Chai and Sons Quarry, observing spectacular Lower Ordovician stromatolite build-ups belonging to Lower Setul limestone

14.00-15.30   Travel to Kuala Kedah Ferry Terminal

16.30-18.15   Depart from Kuala Kedah to Langkawi by ferry Stay in Langkawi at De Greenish Village Langkawi

08.00-08.30   Travel from the hotel to the jetty, NE of the Langkawi

08.30-11.00   Traveling by boat to Pulau Langgun for the Lower Setun Limestone, the most continuous Ordovician sequences ranging from middle Tremadocian to early Katian, observing carbonate facies, build-ups and fossils. (boat supported by LADA)

Stop 4M: Pulau Anak Tigus at the southern part of the Palau Langgun; Middle Ordovician limestones with obvious karst feature and sea notch, observing nautiloid and other fossils.

Stop 5M: Pantai Talam Dua Muka; Small tombolo between Middle Ordovician limestones, observing limestone facies, build-ups and fossil nautiloid such as Sibumasuoceras and other fossils.

Stop 6M: Teluk Mempelam/Gua Langsir; transition of Silurian and Devonian sequences and fossils along the NW of Pulau Langgun

11.00-12.00   Back to Langkawi

12.00-13.00   Lunch

13.00-14.00   Travel to Sungai Itau (Road no.112 to NW)

Stop 7MA/7MB: Small and large abandoned quarries, siliciclastic including dropstone, the evidence of glacial marine of the peri-Gondwana

14.00-15.00 Travel to Taman Seri Aman observing outcrop behind Thean Hou Temple

Stop 8M: Abandoned quarry, Siliciclastic sequence of the Singa Formation with abundant trace fossils with report of fossil brachiopods, crinoids and others.

15.00-16.30 Discussion, business meeting

18.30-19.30 Dinner (supported by LADA)​
