- Arrival of participants/ desk registration (16.00-18.00 hrs) at Buddha Maha Dhamma Raja’s conference room, Phetchabura Buddhist Park, Phetchabun, Central Thailand (There are several hotels available in downtown Phetchabun. The organizing team will stay at SR Residence Hotel and Feung Fah Litz)

23rd August 2022
- Visit Phetchabun aspiring geopark museum. Then the upper Palaeozoic strata in the Phetchbun geopark, observing the well-preserved shallow marine invertebrate fossils such as corals, brachiopods, bryozoans, crinoids as well as fusulines and other fossils. Stay at Ton Palm Inn, Lamnarai (Chai Badan District of Lopburi Province)
24th August 2022
- Fieldtrip/workshop on carbonate development and spectacular mid-Permian (bivalve) build-ups and the end of Palaeozoic carbonate platform in central Thailand in Chaibadan district of Lopburi and nearby areas. Visit the basal conglomerate, the evidence of regional uplift and the demise of Palaeozoic carbonate platform. Afternoon visit spectacular coral bioherm with various organisms at Muak Lek district, field discussion on palaeoenvironment, correlation and other aspects. Stay at Sir James Resort and nearby hotels, Muak Lek District of Saraburi Province.
25th August 2022
- Fieldtrip/workshop on Permian carbonate platform, build-up, slope and basin sections of the Khao Khwang Platform across Phra Phutthabat District Saraburi and nearby areas. Regional correlation and synthesis. Conclusion of the meeting. Stay at 168Pattana and nearby hotels, Pattananikhom District of Lopburi Province.
Location of major field activities
After a one-day meeting, a fieldtrip has been planned along the Phetchabun fold belt in Central Thailand from Phetchabun in the north to Lopburi, Saraburi and nearby areas in the south visiting the late Palaeozoic carbonate sequences and build-ups. This trip includes a field carbonate training/workshop led by prominent carbonate workers from the developed world (both in-person and online).
